The Ancient Stones, New Light temporary exhibit features photographs taken by Father Michael Flecky in the early 1980s of the ruins and landscapes of North Africa, primarily Algeria and Tunisia. In collaboration with the Lanier Center of Archaeology at Lipscomb University, Nashville, TN, Drs. Tim and Anessa Westbrook, and our own collection, the exhibit features artifacts from the Roman and Byzantine period, with many of the ceramics featuring the signature red clay fabric of North Africa. Father Flecky's photographs feature Roman temples, arches, aqueducts, and streets, as well as Byzantine basilicas and baptisteries.
The exhibit is a collaboration between the Clayton Museum of Ancient History, the Lanier Center of Archaeology, Drs. Tim and Anessa Westbrook, and Father Michael Flecky.
